I have been using MyOmniVu for years and am a huge fan.  The camera systems have enhanced my practice in several ways. I use MyOmniVu every single day on every patient. The system is crystal clear and saves my back, eyes, and neck.  It also provides images and videos I utilize in my patient communication and for all of my dental education courses. Intraoral photography has been an integral part of my dental practice for over 35 years now.  In fact, for the past 15 years, I have exclusively used one of several versions of Randy Donahoo’s procedure scopes (MagnaVu 1 and MagnaVu 2?) that have exceeded all of my former expectations of clinical cameras.

Whether for patient education, insurance, and medical-legal documentation, clinical research, or dental lectures, the quality, and simplicity of use are unsurpassed with any of the other systems available in the market.

In addition to the incredible still photos and videos that can be saved and stored, the ability to work live in the patient’s mouth while directly viewing a TV or computer monitor allows a new level of precision with ease, due to the clear adjustable magnification, field of view, and depth of field beyond that of any loupes or microscopes I have seen.

The other most unique use of these procedures scopes that is quite difficult with many camera systems is capturing transilluminated fracture and craze lines in teeth to document “cracked tooth syndrome”.

Finally, for dentists coping with back, neck, or vision impairments that might otherwise limit their ability to perform dentistry at a high level of quality and ergonomic comfort, the new MyOmniVu procedure scopes offer an opportunity to continue practicing without a drop in quality of care!

Revolutionary is probably an understatement, but it does help describe my feelings about these incredible units!

A few examples of the scope's quality:

Dental photography can be quite difficult, especially when you're trying to gather imagery for social media and presentations.  Before we found MagnaVu we tried everything from holding heavy cameras, purchasing special lenses for iPhones, and utilizing GoPro systems during surgeries. It was a huge struggle working around the doctor, assistants and still not being able to get all of the high-resolution shots we were looking for.

Working with Randy and utilizing his high-definition scope was a dream come true! It was easy to use, lightweight, and the clarity was stellar. I highly recommend MyOmniVu and every camera system Randy Donahoo develops.

I have been a full-time user of Randy Donohoo's Magna-Vu intraoral camera system for the last 15 years.  All restorative, crown and bridge, and endodontic procedures are performed on the screen with usually 15x magnification for all procedures.  I work directly off the screen only looking into the mouth for parts of the procedures that do not benefit from magnification.  By working off the screen it has eliminated the need for magnification with loops as much greater magnification can be accomplished with the camera system.

Also, there is a screen that is dedicated for use by my dental assistant so that person knows exactly what is happening during the procedures and can anticipate what I will need next from that person. Working directly from the screen has allowed me to operate with less stress on my neck and back as I can sit upright with much-improved posture positions. Also the ability to have magnification up to 25x has been extremely beneficial during endodontic procedures.   I have been practicing dentistry for 41 years and the Magna-Vu system has helped extend my dental career by allowing me not to suffer from neck and back pain.   This system also makes it very easy to capture still photos for insurance documentation mid-treatment.  We have also captured videos of procedures that have been used in some online marketing.

The system has been the most reliable equipment that I have owned during my 41 years of practice.  Since its installation 15 years ago it has never required any service of any type and has worked perfectly every day that it has been turned on.  This is a result of the great engineering and manufacturing with the best components available that is a hallmark of all of Randy's specialized equipment.  I would not want to continue to practice dentistry if I could not use the Magna-Vu system.
